Ceramic coating and detailing in Westport

Westport is farm country that runs down to the ocean. I come to your driveway, from North Westport to the Point.

Westport is two towns in one for a car. The north end sits along I-195 and Route 6 near the Fall River line; the south end is farmland, the two branches of the Westport River, and Horseneck Beach on the open water. A car that lives near the river mouth deals with different things from one that commutes on the highway, and I recommend accordingly.

I have coated and detailed cars for 15 years and more than 1,200 vehicles. There is no shop to bring the car to; I do the work where it is parked.

What the local conditions do to a car

Open-ocean salt air
The two branches of the Westport River meet at Westport Harbor and empty into Rhode Island Sound, so the south end of town faces the open water rather than a sheltered bay. Salt spray carries well inland on a windy day and settles on paint, trim and glass.
Horseneck Beach sand
Horseneck Beach State Reservation has two miles of barrier beach and draws hundreds of thousands of visitors a year. Sand that comes home in July ends up in carpet fibres, seat rails and door seals.
Farm roads and dust
Westport is still mostly residential with a large farming community. Dry dirt and gravel lanes in summer mean fine dust on every panel, and mud on the lower doors in spring.
I-195 and Route 6 in winter
I-195 and US Route 6 cross the north of town, and Route 88 runs the length of it down to the beach. All of them carry winter salt and brine that dries into a film on lower panels and wheels.
What I’d recommend

What fits a car in Westport

Ceramic coating (Express, Essential, Enhanced). Salt air near the harbour and dust from the farm roads both sit on top of a coating instead of the clear coat, and a rinse takes most of it away. For a car that lives in the south end, it is the protection that matters.

Interior Ceramic Coating (coating add-on). A summer of beach days means sand, wet towels and sunscreen on the seats. Coated fabric, leather and plastics let spills and sunscreen wipe off.

Deep Carpet Extraction. For the end of the beach season, when Horseneck sand has worked down into the carpet below where a vacuum reaches.

Wheel Face Coating (coating add-on). Brine from I-195 and brake dust bake onto wheels over a winter. Coated wheel faces rinse clean instead of needing a scrub.

How booking works in Westport

Westport is about 21 miles from Wareham, well inside the 40-mile radius my booking system works to. The assistant confirms your exact address when you book.

I’m mobile: I come to you and the work happens in your driveway. I arrive at one of three times: 9:00 in the morning, 12:30, or 3:00 in the afternoon. A coating takes most of the day, so it gets the morning arrival; a detail can take any time it fits.

Westport is a big town to cross, and the booking assistant checks your exact address rather than the town as a whole, so the arrival times it offers are the real ones for where you live.

A coating takes most of a day and needs a dry one to cure, so on a coating day I watch the forecast closely, especially for houses near the water where the wind and fog come in off the Sound.

Rain on the day
A coating needs a dry day to cure. If rain is forecast I’ll call or text and we pick a new day at no charge; for detailing, light drizzle is usually fine.

Westport FAQ

Westport is on my service roster, from North Westport and Central Village down to the Point. The booking assistant confirms your exact address when you book, and I work in your driveway.
The south end of Westport faces Rhode Island Sound, which is more exposed than the bay. Salt in the air settles on the car every day and holds moisture against the paint. A coating gives it a surface it cannot bond to, so a regular rinse removes it.
A vacuum gets what is on top. Sand that has worked down into the fibres needs Deep Carpet Extraction, which flushes and pulls it out from the base of the carpet.
It helps the dust come off. Dust still lands on a coated car, but it does not cling to the paint the way it does to a bare clear coat, and it rinses away without scrubbing.
A coating needs a dry day to cure, so if rain is forecast I get in touch and we pick a new day at no charge. For detailing, light drizzle is usually fine.
