Fogland Beach and Grinnell’s Beach both sit on the Sakonnet. Sand rides home in floor mats, seat seams and carpet, and the fine grit works its way down to the backing where a vacuum alone will not reach.

Late May into mid-June, pine pollen coats every parked car. On a tree-lined road along the ridge it lands thick, and left in the sun it is harder to wash off cleanly.
