Bridges and I-195 in winter
I-195 over the Braga Bridge, Route 6 and Route 138 over the Veterans Memorial Bridge, and Route 103 are all state roads, which MassDOT pre-treats with brine and salts through storms. It dries onto lower panels and wheels.
Route 6 shopping plazas
Route 6 runs west toward Swansea lined with shopping plazas. Errands there mean open lots in full sun and slow traffic, and the road film that comes with both.
Spring pollen
Oak pollen in April and May, then pine pollen into June. In salt air it sticks to a damp car and bakes on in the sun.
