Taunton River and Assonet Bay
The Taunton River runs the length of the western border and is tidal here, with Dighton Rock State Park on its bank. Houses near the river and Assonet Bay see more morning damp than inland, and moisture is what lets dirt and pollen stick.
Route 24 in winter
Route 24 bisects the town, and Route 79 runs along the Lakeville line. A winter of salt and brine spray from the expressway ends up on lower panels, wheels and the tailgate.
Pollen on wooded lots
Late May into June, pine pollen coats every parked car in New England, and it is worst on a car that lives under trees on a country road.
Leaf fall
Wet leaves left on paint in the fall leave stains and tannin marks, especially on lighter colours.

What fits a car in Berkley
