The tidal Taunton River
The Taunton River is tidal along Dighton’s shore. Houses near the river and the Sweets Knoll boat launch see damp air and some salt in it, which settles on cars parked outside.
Farm roads and fields
Dirt from fields and farm traffic ends up on the lower panels and in the wheel wells. Dried mud is abrasive, and wiping it off dry scratches the paint.
Route 138 in winter
Route 138 carries most of the traffic through town between Taunton and Somerset, and MassDOT brines and salts it through every storm. The film dries white on the lower half of the car.
