Narragansett Bay salt air
The town’s whole eastern edge is the bay, and Wickford is a harbour village. Salt air settles on cars along the shore every day and holds moisture against paint and trim.
RIDOT brine and salt
Rhode Island pre-treats its roads with salt brine up to days before a storm and salts through it. Route 1, Route 4 and Route 403 put a film of it on lower panels and wheels all winter.
New cars and transport grime
