Hingham lies along the southwestern corner of Boston Harbor, with the Weymouth Back River on one side and the Weir River on the other. Salt air settles on cars near the water every day and holds moisture against paint and trim.
Wompatuck woodland
Wompatuck State Park covers about 3,500 acres, mostly in Hingham. Streets near it get heavy pollen in late spring, sap year round and leaves in the fall.
Marina and ferry
There is a marina at the mouth of the Back River, and the Boston ferry runs from the Hingham Shipyard. Cars parked at the water all day sit in harbour air from morning to evening.
Route 3 and Route 3A
Route 3 crosses the southwest corner of town and Route 3A runs along the harbour side. MassDOT pre-treats with brine and salts through every storm, and the film dries onto lower panels and wheels.

What fits a car in Hingham

Enhanced Ceramic Coating (7-year, two-stage correction first). If sap, salt or years of washing have already left marks or swirls, the two-stage correction in the Enhanced coating takes them out before the coating locks in the finish.

All-Glass Ceramic Coating (coating add-on). Salt haze on glass is easy to miss until you drive into a low sun. Coated glass sheds it, and the rain with it.
