Burrillville fills the northwest corner of Rhode Island, bordering both Connecticut and Massachusetts. It is a town of villages, Glendale, Harrisville, Mapleville, Nasonville, Oakland and Pascoag, set in a stretch of forest that runs across the three states. The Buck Hill Management Area is state land in town, and Wallum Lake straddles the line with Douglas, Massachusetts.

Rhode Island pre-treats its roads with salt brine up to three days before a storm and salts through it. Route 100, Route 102 and Route 107 put that film on lower panels, wheels and the back of the car all winter.
