What the local conditions do to a car

Pine pollen and sap
Plymouth sits in the Plymouth Pinelands, and Myles Standish State Forest, the second largest state forest in Massachusetts, is inside the town. Late May into June, pine pollen coats everything; parking under pitch pines adds sap year round.
Cape Cod Bay salt air
Plymouth makes up the whole western shore of Cape Cod Bay. Along the water, from the harbour to Manomet and White Horse Beach, salt air settles on cars every day.
Route 3 in winter
Route 3 has six exits in Plymouth, more than in any other town on it, and a winter of brine and salt spray from it ends up on lower panels, wheels and the back of the car.
Nine public beaches
Sand in the carpets, sunscreen on the seats and a hot car parked in the sun all summer: the interior takes as much wear as the paint.

What fits a car in Plymouth

Ceramic coating (Express, Essential, Enhanced). Pollen and sap bake on in the sun and can mark the clear coat. A coating keeps them on top of a slick layer instead, and they rinse off. Near the water, it does the same job against salt.

Enhanced Ceramic Coating (7-year, two-stage correction first). If sap or pollen has already left marks in the clear coat, the two-stage correction in the Enhanced coating takes them out before the coating locks in the finish.

Interior Ceramic Coating (coating add-on). For a summer of beach trips: spills and sunscreen wipe off coated fabric, leather and plastics.

Full Detail. If you are not coating, a spring Full Detail clears the winter salt and the sap before pollen season starts.
