Route 6 crosses town as a freeway, but daily driving is on Route 28, 132 and 149 and through Hyannis. Stop-and-go traffic means brake dust on the wheels, and in winter, brine thrown up off wet roads.

Around Wequaquet Lake and through the middle of town, driveways sit under pines and oaks. Pine pollen peaks from late May into June, and sap comes down year round.
