The city’s whole west side runs along the tidal Seekonk and Providence rivers, and Riverside reaches down toward the bay. Salt air there settles on paint, glass and trim.

RIDOT pre-treats state roads with salt brine up to three days before a storm and salts through it. I-195 and the state routes put that film on lower panels and wheels all winter.
